Random House Updates

We’ve been working this week to put everything in its place in our new home. Here are a few peeks into our home.

First, I love the fresh flowers that Michael’s parents sent us as a house warming.

Last night we hung this weathered wooden oval mirror over the fireplace and two oval frames flanking the back door.
Now I need to find two photographs for the frames.

This Tanamachi Studio print is now hanging inside the garage entrance to the kitchen.

It’s so good to have an organized closet! I may not have a glamorous wardrobe, but it’s fun to see everything in one place….
vs. living out of boxes for the past year.
I pretty much live in a uniform of chambray shirts with black leggings and boots in the winter or sandals in the summer. Easy and casual.

my most worn shoes: TOMS, New Balance sneakers, and Kenneth Cole leather boots

Graham’s sweet baby hand and foot prints are framed on the right side of my desk next to
a rock I brought home from the summer Michael and I spent on Mount Desert Island, Maine.

A pottery pencil cup filled with xacto knives, scissors, and paper scorers sits next to a pierced ceramic dish for
my extra xacto knife blades and paper clips. These are chevron and fretwork place cards I’ve recently been working on.

The irrigation installation began yesterday. I can hear them outside digging trenches as I type.

  1. Hi Emily,
Loving all the updates. I think your being my favourite new blog..ha! I laugh when I see some of the photos. I have several resto topiaries along with a very similar mirror.

I spied what looks to be arrow paisley fabric on your desk. I am a huge Schumacher fan also! I have used several patterns for pillows throughout my home. Adore their wallpaper also. I have just recently purchased some for my daughter’s room. Now finding someone to install it is a another story..ha

    Thanks for continuing to share

    1. Hi Florence, I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying my house updates. It’s nice to be home!

Good eye! Yes, that is Arklow Paisley fabric on my desk! I plan to make two 22″ pillow covers for our living room.

      Thanks for stopping by!
