One of my favorite projects for welcoming fall into our home is decorating our fireplace mantel. This season I adorned the mantel with four bronze pumpkins in a variety of shapes to flank the deep red wreath. Lately I’ve seen tons of wreaths hanging over fireplaces in magazines and decor blogs. I’ve had the brown woven vine circle over our fireplace for months but it was hindering me from using a pretty wreath. I didn’t realize I could have a wreath over my fireplace too until I saw a photo of a wreath hanging over a mirror. So I attached our new pretty wreath on top of the brown vine circle to give the room a pop of color and the perfect focal point. This year I opted for a symmetrical layout with two glass candle sticks to mirror each other around the wreath. I love layering textures like the paper-thin wooden circle wreath on top of the woven vine.

The top photo shows the white pumpkins on our front porch steps. Our front porch also has been planted with red mums to match our front door.

    That was a very creative touch - overlapping the two circles over your fireplace. The colors work well with your rug too. I’m so happy fall is here!

    Not sure if you read comments on older posts, but I hope you do! I love the rug you have in front of your fire place and have been contemplating buying the same one (I think!) from Target. Have you had any problems with it shedding or your dog pulling up the loops? I would love to get this rug but worry about how it would wear in my house!
