Graham’s room in our new house has been on my mind lately since we’re getting closer to our move-in date. He’s not ready for a big boy bed yet so I’ll most likely decorate his room with the same items from his current nursery when we move. Even so, I still like decorating in my head and had fun compiling these adorable items that I think would make a sweet toddler boy room. The pale teal blue diamond quilt mixed with the soft lime green star pattern on the sheets and accented by this butter yellow dog pillow would be an unexpected color combo for a little boy. It would all pop against the other more neutral items. I’m always a fan of adding natural textured items like the basket weave hanging pendant light and the rattan swinging chair. I had a swinging chair in my teenage bedroom and thought it was the coolest thing so I’m sure my little guy would like one too. Graham loves pointing out animals and making up his own sounds he imagines each one makes so I bet he’d like this ceramic elephant stool and leather giraffe bookend in his room. All of these items can be found at Serena & Lily.
Speaking of little boys… Have you seen this this boy, (JDViolinBoy, age 9), perform a Katy Perry and Sara Bareilles mash-up? He’s so talented to sing, play piano, drum, and record himself all at once. It made me excited to hear Graham sing one day.
My two-thousand eleven has already shown to be full of life changes. I’m itching to share my plans with all of you, so stay tuned for some pretty big news. From day one of this new year, my life has been turned upside down – for the better. I’m sorry the blog posts have been few and far between. My mind and time have been focused on preparations and new designs for Timeless Paper. Curious yet?
One change for this year is my plan to save instead of spend. To keep me from shopping, I’m going to share things on the blog I would love to wear or use to decorate my home. Enjoy the pretty pictures with me! (The silver State Necklace of Arkansas was a 2010 treat that I wear every day to remind me of home.)
I keep coming back to this gate trellis pattern by Dwell Studio. I’ve been on the hunt for a rug for our basement (#9) and fabric for Willow’s dog bed (#1). The java putty brown shade with creamy white is perfect. And who doesn’t love a classic trellis that emulates the ornate trellis work of European gardens? Here are my favorite items I found in this collection:
Most of you close to me know that pink is not my favorite color, but today I’d like my weekly collection post to be inspired by shades of flushed and hot pinks. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, here are some really pretty pink items that will brighten your day. (I love wearing the shoes shown above in the ballet flats version.)
My favorite time of year for fashion is near – Fall! Today I’m sharing all of the pieces on my wardrobe radar. I can’t decide which pieces I like best. I’m always up for comfort, muted colors, and flattering lines. What are you looking forward to wearing for Fall? Share any fabulous finds we shouldn’t miss. I’m dreaming of these lovely ingredients for my cool weather festivities:
